The Bard’s Bus Tour - July 8 – August 14, 2016 across Ontario
Driftwood Theatre Group is proud to present the ultimate battle of the sexes, William Shakespeare’s THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, as it rolls across Ontario this summer for The Bard’s Bus Tour. This unique production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW is set in 1989 during the Toronto Pride Festival and explores themes of sexuality, consent and the exchange of power.
From July 8 – August 14, The Bard’s Bus Tour will bring this fiery romantic comedy to 28 locations across Ontario in only 39 days. For 22 years, The Bard’s Bus Tour has brought professional pay-what-you-can performances of classic plays to outdoor locations in small towns and city neighbourhoods across the province.

Today, North By Northeast NXNE announced more programming for the NXNE Port Lands on Friday, June 17 with Los Angeles rapper ScHoolboy Q, local hip-hop artist Tasha the Amazon and Ivory Coast reggae singer Tiken Jah Fakoly, and Saturday, June 18 with Montreal indie rock trio Land of Talk, rock quartet Born Ruffians and Toronto alt-pop band HIGHS, plus a cool activation from Texas Tourism and more from NXNE Club Land.
Previously announced acts as part of NXNE Port Lands on Friday, June 17, sponsored by Manifesto, include Ghostface Killah, Shamir, Daniel Caesar, and Mick Jenkins. Saturday, June 18 will feature Father John Misty, Mother Mother, Dan Mangan, The Zolas and The Devin Cuddy Band with special guests.
